Welcome to this simple online guide about multimedia
including commonly asked questioned, a brief history, its various
tools/ applications, the types of media that comprise it, and the
technologies currently being employed.
The site has been designed for the purpose of complete
beginners, who may have never even heard of, or understand, what
multimedia is. Although more advance user may still find parts of
interest, or areas that they haven’t been involved with, throughout
the text.
What is Multimedia?
The full description of multimedia is:
“The seamless digital integration of a range of different
mediums, such as text, audio, video, graphics, still images, animation,
and computer data, in a way that provides individual users with
high levels of control and interaction.”
ie. It is the combination of a range of media (text, graphics,
sound. etc) into one, and then displayed on a single screen, like
a webpage.
